Sure Start Children’s Centres are part of the One Point Service which provides services for children, young people and families.
Working together with staff from Durham County Council and the NHS we provide a variety of advice and support from early pregnancy to 19 years old (25 years if the child is disabled) to make sure children have the best opportunity to reach their potential.
You can get professional advice on health and family matters, learn about training and job opportunities or just socialise with other mams, dads and carers by attending the play groups with your children.
Where are the children's centres
Children's centres are arranged in cluster areas. There is a 'main' children's centre linked to a One Point Hub and 'associate' children's centres are linked to the main children's centre in that area. This improves service delivery in a more cost effective manner.
What the One Point Service can offer
Acting as a 'one stop shop' you may access support from the following professionals:

Our services aim to meet the needs of all. Our Sure Start Children Centres Equality Impact Assessment July 2010.pdf provides more details.
