Sure Start Children's Centres provide a variety of advice and support for mams, dads and carers. Their services are available to you from pregnancy right through to when your child goes into school.  Children’s centres bring together a range of agencies to offer services to meet your and your child’s needs, all in one place. 

They’re somewhere your child can make friends and learn as they play. You can get professional advice on health and family matters, learn about training and job opportunities or just socialise with other mams, dads and carers.

In Derwentside there are seven centres based in Benfieldside, Burnhope, Catchgate, Craghead, Leadgate, Moorside, Stanley and one outreach Centre at Delves Lane with some services offered in a variety of other places.   So, wherever you live … support really is just around the corner.
