Childminding
Childminding is currently one of the most popular kinds of day care chosen by parent, offering Childcare for babies and children of all ages, usually with hours that allow for greater flexibility.
A childminder is self-employed, childminding in their own homes, so the hours of work and the number and ages of the children cared for would be up to the childminder. The maximum number of children looked after at any one time is set by Ofsted.
Details for qualifications needed to be a childminder can be found in the
Document Library.
For more information about taking the next step to becoming a childminder please contact the
Families Information Service (FIS) for advice and an information pack.
