If you have decided that you would like a career working with children in the early years and childcare sector you may need to achieve a qualification so that you are qualified to do this.

TrainingThe National Standards state that the person who is in charge of a childcare setting must hold a relevant level three qualification and that 50% of all remaining staff hold a level two qualification.

SureStart County Durham would like to exceed this standard and aim for all remaining staff to be qualified to at least level two.

If you would like to train in this field then you need to contact your local college or another training provider about possible courses that would be available to you.

Funding is available from SureStart County Durham to support those people who live or work (in a childcare or early years setting) in County Durham and would like to train for a career in this sector.
